Our ski lessons take place at the Lognan
les Grands Montets ski area and at the Domaine de Balme ski area.
The ski area of Lognan les
Grands Montets :
A ski area dominated by the Aiguille des Grands
Montets (3233 m), with a height difference of over 2000 metres. The « Grands » offers
a magnificent choice of descents at the foot of the Drus and the Aiguille
Verte, a magical part of the Mont Blanc massif. Thanks to its’ high
altitude, this unmissable ski area of the Chamonix valley has a great snow
record, even late in the season. (The area does have snow cannons, just
in case !)
The ski lifts : 2 cable cars, 1 télécabine,
6 chair lifts, 2 drag lifts /pomas.
The pistes : 5 black pistes, 4 red pistes,
2 blue pistes, 1 green piste.
Other facilities : 3 restaurants, 2 self service restaurants, 2
snack bars , 1 refuge (accessible to ski tourers).
Strengths : High altitude slopes and off piste skiing. Artificial
snow cannons between 1250m and 2800m.
Number crunching : 400 000 skiers per year.
The domaine of Balme :
This ski area bordering Switzerland offers a variety of pistes. A superb,
vast ski area suitable for all the family. Beginners and intermediate skiers
will enjoy the wide open pistes, more advanced skiers will enjoy the steeper
slopes on the Swiss side of the domaine. This area is generally very sunny,
especially at the beginning and end of the season. You can reach the ski
area either from the village of Le Tour or from the village of Vallorcine,
1 kilometre from the Swiss border. Artificial snow cannons guarantee you
can ski right down to the village of Le Tour, even at the end of the season.
Ski lifts : 2 télécabines,
3 chair lifts, 7 draglifts/pomas.
The pistes :1 black piste, 7 red pistes, 8 blue pistes, 2 green
pistes.
Facilities : 4 restaurants, 1 self-service restaurant, 2 snack
bars.
Strenths : sunny, family-friendly skiing and snowboarding.
Number crunching : 300 000 skiers per year..
