Ski Touring
Do get in touch if you are interested in doing some ski touring. We have an enthusiastic team of instructors who enjoy sharing their love of touring with others. Ski touring is available for adults who have reached level 4 in their group lessons, depending on the snow conditions at the end of the season. The Chamonix valley is a wonderful place to ski tour, with lots of fresh powder snow away from the pistes and ski lifts.

Cross-country (Nordic) Skiing
Cross-country ski lessons are regularly organised during the week and you will find the teaching very professional and informative. If you are doing a week of cross-country skiing, your week will include a trip to the Aosta Valley ( during French school term time only). To really improve your cross-country skiing, you could choose a private lesson. The cross-country ski pistes in Argentière allow everyone, no matter what their level, to find the right terrain for them, while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Chamonix Valley. Moreover, the high altitude guarantees great snow on the cross-country ski pistes.

Snowshoes
The Chamonix Valley is full of secluded areas which are wonderful to discover on snowshoes. We organise outings on snowshoes twice a week. Check out our programme.

Freestyle skiing
For those of you wanting to practice some freestyle skiing, several of our younger instructors offer private lessons, and will introduce you to this fun activity. There is even a special snow park at the Lognan les Grands Montets : tables, a step-up, gaps , spines, hips and a half-pipe will keep anyone who loves freestyle happy, whether a skier or snowboarder. You will learn to graber, master a jib or a fakie and other things that make freestyle so much fun.

Alpine skiing
This is without a doubt the most practised discipline at the école de ski Argentière. Whether you are 3 or 99, we offer lessons to suit your level and keep you happy. Alping skiing has really evolved over the past few years, so whether you want to ski fresh powder, try ski carving, have a go with the famous fat skis or try the new length slalom skis (1,65m) you will find something right for you.

Freeride
The Grands Montets and freeriding go hand in hand. Freeriding here is part of the culture and arouses real passion ( with a capital P). Some of our instuctors have taken part in the Freeriding World Championships, and did brilliantly. Book a private lesson with one of them and make the most of their experience.

Race Training
Whether in a group or in a private lesson, you can perfect your technique with one of our instructors. If you love slalom and giant slalom, you’ll find an instructor who feels the same way. On the slalom course at Lognan les Grands Montets or at the domaine de Balme, come and polish your skills with one of our pros.

Snowboarding
Snowboarding is really popular in Argentière. Isn’t this where our Olympic Champion Karine Ruby first stood on a board ? Whether you love surfing the pistes, freestyle or freeriding, our team is qualified and gifted enough to help you out.

Telemarking
Telemarking is very in style in Argentière. This discipline is widely practised in Scandinavian countries and made its’ way to the Chamonix Valley thanks to a strong contingent of skiers from northern Europe who have settled here. It is an incredibly physical discipline which has won over a number or our instructors here at the école de ski Argentière. As a result, many of them can offer you a really great quality lesson.
